Mandated Community Service
If you would like to
complete mandated community service hours with Habitat, please read
through all of the information below.
Please be aware that setting up mandated community service volunteers
can take some time. Don't wait until the last minute to contact
us!
Your responsibilities:
Before your first day of
community service is scheduled you must submit a copy of a letter from
the organization requesting the community service hours stating the
reason why you are required to complete them. The letter must include
by when and to whom confirmation of your hours will go upon completion
of your service.
Also needed is a copy of
a photo id.
*You may fax or e-mail this information to our Volunteer Services
Manager (see contact info below).
All community service
dates must be scheduled through our Volunteer Services Manager.
You may schedule by phone or e-mail.

Tracking your hours:
ü
On your first day, please
ask for a Community
Service Hours Tracking Log. It is your responsibility to bring it with you every time you
volunteer. You MUST have your daily supervisor sign you in on
this form AT THE BEGINNING of each day and sign you out WHEN YOU LEAVE.
If you do not, your hours will not be counted.
ü
YOUR SUPERVISOR WILL SIGN
YOU IN AT THE TIME THAT YOU ASK TO BE SIGNED IN. If you do not do this
when you first arrive, you will not be credited for all of the hours
that you worked. ALSO, THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY RECORD OF YOUR SERVICE
WITH US, SO PLEASE KEEP THIS DOCUMENT SAFE.
ü You will not earn service hours during lunch.
A half an hour will automatically be deducted from your total hours for
the day, so
please be sure to take lunch.
Receiving verification of your hours:

As soon as you have
completed your hours either mail or hand-deliver your Community Service
Hours Tracking Log to our Volunteer Services Manager.
ü
You should plan to
complete your service with us at least TWO weeks prior to your needing
confirmation of your hours. This is essential to allow time for
our Volunteer Services Manager to write a confirmation letter and to
ensure it arrives on time via mail.
